 Compeq new HDI board capacity to come online in 3Q14 

The first-phase of capacity of Compeq Manufacturing's new plant in Chongqing, China will come online at the end of the third quarter of 2014, according to the PCB maker. The new plant, which will have a total production capacity of 450,000 square feet of PCBs a month, plans to roll out 120,000-150,000 square feet initially, focusing on 3-layer and above HDI boards, the company noted. Compeq's HDI board clients include Apple, Samsung Electronics, ZTE, Huawei and Xiaomi Technology, according to industry sources. Compeq is expected to see its revenues grow 5-10% sequentially to NT$8 billion (US$265.65 million) in the second quarter of 2014 compared to NT$7.19 billion posted a quarter earlier, the sources estimated. Sales of HDI boards accounted for 60% of Compeq's total revenues in the first quarter of 2014, up from 50% at the end of 2013. Compeq posted net profits of NT$334 million in the first quarter, up 19.9% from a year earlier. The earnings translated into an EPS of NT$0.28 for the quarter.
