 AT&S Austrian Sites Achieve ISO 50001

As one of the first industrial companies in Austria the AT&S production plants in Leoben and Fehring successfully passed the ISO 50001 certification audit. The main focus of this certificate is on increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption as well as energy costs.

The purpose of this energy related ISO standard is to establish systems and processes which are essential to improve the energy performance. In order to reduce energy consumption in both locations sustainably, numerous measures have already been implemented,  processes  have been analysed , energy assessments have been conducted and areas of high energy consumption have been identified. In addition, energy performance indicators to measure and monitor energy performance have been established.

The systematic development of an energy management system according to ISO 50001 together with the existing environmental management system according to ISO 14001 will significantly contribute to AT&S’s mission to reduce the ecological footprint.
