Analog IC vendor GMT to see revenues grow 2-12% in 3Q14

Analog IC vendor Global Mixed-mode Technology (GMT) expects its sales to grow 2-12% sequentially in the third quarter of 2014, but gross margin to drop to 33-36% from 36.48% during the same period, company president Wu Chin-chuan said at the company's most recent investors conference. Increasing shipments of low-margin products for notebook and LCD panel applications will affect gross margin in the third quarter, Wu said. GMT saw its net profits decrease 26.3% sequentially to NT$118 million (US$3.93 million) in the second quarter of 2014. The earnings translated into an EPS of NT$1.39 for the quarter. For the first half of 2014, net profits gained 1.9% on year to NT$271 million or NT$3.26 per share.
